Essential Accessories for the Google Pixel 6 Pro You Should Consider
Written on
Chapter 1: Introduction to the Pixel 6 Pro
Having owned a Google Pixel 6 Pro for some time now, I can confidently say it’s a remarkable device. However, like many others, I have a mix of opinions about it. The camera’s performance is stellar, and the overall functionality is impressive, but there are certain aspects I appreciate and others that frustrate me.
One thing I genuinely miss about iPhones is the abundance of accessories available for them, such as the innovative MagSafe system, which uses magnets to secure items like card wallets and power banks without the hassle of cables. In contrast, finding accessories for the Pixel can be quite a challenge compared to the convenience of iPhone accessories readily available even in local shops.
After extensive research online, I discovered a selection of Pixel 6 Pro accessories that I’m excited to share with you, starting with phone cases.
Section 1.1: The Importance of a Good Case
I’m definitely one of those individuals who prefers to use a case. The thought of scratching my phone is unbearable! Since acquiring my Pixel 6 Pro, I've tried two different cases: the Caseology Vault in Matte Black and the official Google Pixel 6 Pro case in Carbon.
Currently, I believe the Caseology Vault offers superior protection at a more affordable price, while the official Google case provides enhanced comfort. Initially, I was hesitant about the official case due to its mixed reviews and design. I’ve always preferred the aesthetics of older Google Pixel cases, but I must admit that the feel of the new case is quite pleasant.
Section 1.2: The Charging Stand
After watching several reviews of the second-generation Pixel Stand, I decided to invest in it. Although it isn't the most budget-friendly option, it boasts an array of impressive features beyond just fast charging.
When you place your phone on the stand, it transforms into a smart hub for managing your smart home devices. You can monitor your Nest cameras, control your lights, and more! Additionally, it can serve as a digital photo frame, allowing you to enjoy your cherished memories while your phone charges.
The stand is compatible with most devices that support wireless charging; however, it unfortunately does not work with the Pixel Buds A as they lack wireless charging capability.

Section 1.3: The Official Charging Block
Since the Pixel 6 Pro doesn’t come with a charger, I was on the lookout for a compatible fast charger. At the time, the official Pixel 6 charging block was priced similarly to other third-party options, so I opted for it.
Living in the UK, where plugs tend to be bulky due to the standard 3-pin design, I appreciated the retractable third pin, making it easier to transport. Overall, this charging plug is of good quality, provides a decent charge, and is worth the investment.
Chapter 2: Charging Solutions and Audio Accessories
Section 2.1: USB-C Charging Cable
Continuing with charging accessories, I currently use the Acefast 100W LED USB-C cable, which is excellent, especially for tech enthusiasts. This cable features a handy display to show charging power and includes protections against over-voltage, overheating, overcurrent, and short circuits.
While the included charging cables from smartphone manufacturers have improved, options like the Acefast cable offer significantly better quality and durability.
Section 2.2: Pixel Buds A
I’ve tested numerous wireless earbuds, but for the last few weeks, I’ve been using the Pixel Buds A daily. Having previously owned the Pixel Buds 2, I decided to try this newer, more affordable model.
While I appreciate their sound quality and compatibility with the Pixel 6 Pro, I’m not sure I’d repurchase them, as alternatives like the Beats Studio Buds or Nothing Ear (1) offer active noise cancellation (ANC) at a similar price. Overall, they work well for casual listening, but I’d recommend ANC-enabled earbuds for travel.
Section 2.3: Google USB-C Earbuds
I like to be prepared, especially on longer journeys, so I always carry a wired backup pair of earbuds in case my wireless ones run out. My current choice is the Google USB-C Earbuds.
While they’re decent for wired earbuds, I still prefer the Samsung AKG alternatives for comfort and sound quality. However, I often face compatibility issues with my Samsungs across different devices, which is why I rely on Google’s option for a reliable backup.
