When it comes to writing, many of us have heard the advice to express ourselves as if no one is paying attention. However, consider this: there is always someone reading your work, even if that someone is just a close family member.
I work at a Spanish school in Colombia, where I assist with maintaining the blog. Writing is a passion of mine, and I enjoy collaborating with volunteers. Recently, a new student revealed that she had read every blog post before deciding to join our school. To my surprise, this was only a handful of posts and necessary pages on our site.
She mentioned that it was the content about Jericó and the experiences of past students that drew her in. Humans have an innate curiosity, and sharing stories is a fundamental part of our nature.
Interestingly, I've had students reach out after seeing my videos about Jericó. Some have even stayed with families I recommended during their travels. This demonstrates how impactful writing can be, even if it seems small at first. Each post can help support a local business or encourage someone to pursue a dream.
