In it, Moldbug posits that Dawkins transcends traditional atheism, labeling him a ‘Christian atheist’ or ‘nontheistic Christian.’ He references Dawkins’ statement from The God Delusion, where Dawkins describes himself as a ‘deeply religious non-believer.’ Moldbug asserts that Dawkins’ beliefs parallel many Christian ideals, such as the equitable distribution of resources, the rejection of violence, the brotherhood of mankind, and the value of community.

However, Dawkins' recent self-identification as a ‘cultural Christian’ starkly contrasts his earlier views on Christianity. At the time Moldbug presented his arguments, the suggestion that Dawkins had Christian leanings seemed far-fetched.
