There’s typically no clear guideline, and what worked well yesterday might not yield the same results today.

It's akin to wandering through a dimly lit room, searching for the exit to another equally obscure space. This scenario triggers various intuitive feelings that can be challenging to articulate as specific questions. For instance, entrepreneurs might grapple with thoughts like:

  • I sense something is off, but I can’t pinpoint it.
  • I’m overwhelmed by numerous challenges and don’t know how to tackle them.
  • I’m eager to advance but lack clarity on my next steps.

These thoughts, while numerous, remain vague and difficult to address.

So, how can entrepreneurs convert these indistinct signals into questions that lead to actionable insights?

The answer is straightforward in theory: seek out someone else to pose the question.

This conundrum is one of the many frustrating aspects of entrepreneurship, but it’s not merely theoretical. I personally recognized the value of listening to others’ inquiries during my journey of building and selling a similar business nearly a decade ago.
