Chapter 1: The Power of Free Mentorship
You don't always have to spend money to achieve your goals.

Throughout my journey, I've had the privilege of being mentored by notable figures like Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, and Bob Proctor. Additionally, I’ve been guided by Brian Tracy, Daniel Goleman, and Dan Sullivan—all without spending a dime.
How did I manage this? What steps did I take to earn their guidance despite my financial constraints? The secret lies in understanding that not everything requires monetary investment to gain insight and mentorship. With the right approach, you can connect with influential minds without breaking the bank.
To achieve this, I did what every aspiring follower should do. The realm of self-improvement often resembles a cult where every mentor seeks devoted followers. They recognize their followers based on the products they purchase, especially their books. When you buy a self-help book, it feels like you've given them the world.
Why is that? For gurus, credibility is paramount, and not having a published book can undermine their authority. Writing books helps them solidify their reputation and win the hearts of their audience. When you purchase a book, you're supporting their journey toward becoming a New York Times Bestselling Author—a coveted title in the industry. However, simply buying a book doesn’t guarantee mentorship. Here's what I do next.
“A Guru is needed not to worship, but to direct you.” — Alan Finger
Getting Mentorship from Influential Figures
Each book authored by a mentor is a repository of their ideas and the strategies they employ to guide others. By purchasing and reading their works, you gain access to their knowledge and insights—almost like receiving mentorship for a fraction of the cost.
Instead of paying hundreds or thousands for direct coaching, I invest in their books and immerse myself in their wisdom. This way, I absorb the same insights they would share in a mentorship session.
If I had spent $1,000 for each mentor whose book I've read—about fifty in total—I would have incurred a staggering $50,000 expense. As someone who works hard to make ends meet, that amount is simply unattainable. Instead, I choose to invest $10 or $20 in their books, effectively tapping into their intellect without the financial burden.
“You don’t need to spend money on everything when you know how to get it.”
Alternative Strategies for Non-Readers
I understand that some of you may not have the luxury of time to read due to busy schedules filled with work and family responsibilities. If reading isn't feasible, don't fret! You can still access valuable mentorship through videos and audiobooks.
YouTube is an excellent resource for this purpose, and numerous podcasts feature these thought leaders sharing their insights. By engaging with their videos and podcasts, you can absorb the same teachings they offer for a hefty fee—all for free.
Final Thoughts
To unlock opportunities, you sometimes need to think outside the box, especially if you're not financially privileged. This is how I connect with some of the brightest minds in the world without spending a cent.
If you're seeking guidance but lack the funds, try this approach:
- Purchase books from individuals you admire; their works encapsulate their ideas.
- Watch their YouTube videos.
- Listen to their podcasts and audiobooks.
By following these steps, you won’t have to stress about how to find mentorship or acquire knowledge to reach your goals. Many have paved their path to success through reading, and you can do the same without needing personal coaches or mentors.
This strategy has served me well over the years, and I believe it can help you too if you give it a try.
You have every right to succeed, so take charge of your journey. Use your mind to unlock your potential.
