It's likely that many writers pour considerable effort into their work, only to find their financial returns fall short of expectations. This scenario is common across various online endeavors, including those attempting to monetize hobbies or transitioning to freelance work after retirement.
While a few may find success, the harsh reality is that most do not. Several factors contribute to this disparity: being fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, having influential connections, possessing the necessary capital for effective marketing, lacking the competitive edge, or simply offering products that don’t resonate in the market.
Why then is there such discontent over meager earnings? Many feel trapped in a cycle of stress and dissatisfaction. My own experience of stepping away from corporate life 25 years ago to pursue writing has been challenging, yet it's the only path that aligns with my skills and passions.
